The scanner works with a so-called Dual Lens System, meaning there are two lenses - the Super Resolution Lens for the scanning of film material in film holders and the High Resolution Lens for non-transparent images and film material with the film area guidance. These high resolutions make only sense with negatives or slides - with images on paper or similar it's not useful at all. The maximum theoretical resolution is 6400 dpi for film material, which becomes scanned using corresponding film holders, and 4800dpi when scanning opaque images or film material, which is being placed without holders on the scanner's surface.
